It didn't remove the existing arrows. I added another internet site to the desktop just to test and it too had the arrow. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Hey, Again,

I checked the registry and the IsShortcut I deleted is now replaced with TypeFriendlyName. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Great Registry Hacks

Thank you for the quick response. I followed the update and it still did not work. I have a desktop full of internet shortcuts and I read some where that it does not work on internet shortcuts only on programs. True?
If not true any other ideas. Thanks again.

can you tell me what extension shows your shortcuts.
isn't it .url (internet shortcuts)?

I went back to regedit and used F3 and found 4 more 'IsShortcut'. Now arrows are gone. Like you said it is easy - - I had to find them all. I like this site.
